Garry and Everyone,

Thank you very much for the replies! I truly appreciate it!

To at least get started, it appears that I can purchase "Visual Basic.NET
Standard" for about $100 and that will allow me get comfortable with VB.NET,
ADO.NET and ASP.NET. I run Win2K Pro here at home, so I think I'm OK there,
too.

Although my employer will reimburse a portion of my training expenses, I'm
not sure if they'll pop for a full-blown version of VS.NET for $1,000 or an
MSDN Universal subscription. Therefore, I'm seeking the most cost-effective
path. My objective is not to simply pass the exams; I want to learn as much
as possible as I prepare for the exams.

I will check eBay, Garry. Sounds like a heck of deal.

Thanks again and Happy Thanksgiving!
