| Umm... perhaps this helps:
The Windows Component Update installs some Components
needed in order to prepare the machine to install VS.NET.
I'm not sure but the list includes (yes. you can get most
of the items by yourself):
- Windows 2000 Service Pack2, so... better go with SP3.
- MDAC 2.7, download it from www.microsoft.com/data
- An updated version of FrontPage Extensions, i guees you
can download it from the Microsoft Website.
- Internet Explorer 6.0, so... install the latest version.
- .NET Framework, download it from www.microsoft.com/net.
I'm not sure if this is all, but you can try.
Other option is to buy a recent .NET book from Microsoft
Press, most of include a DVD with the Trial Version of
VS.NET, but the elements of Component Update are OK!! (no
expiring).
I hope it helps.
Best Regards
Ernesto.
