"Free" sub to Windows & .NET Dev Mag

| I've just received this month's copy of the MCP newsletter
and noted an interesting offer of a free years
subscription to Windows & .NET Magazine. Now, I thought,
that sound like a good deal until I noticed that the deal
only includes people living in the USA and Canada! But its
OK cause people living outside the USA and Canada can get
the magazine at a discount of only $45! Near enough the
same price the magazine sells for in the US in the first
place.
I live in the UK, outside the US and Canada, as do a large
number of other Microsoft developers, so am left with only
the option of the "discounted" subscription price. Now I
don't know how much Microsoft pays for a stamp but it
wouldn't cost me $45 to send 12 magazines over to the UK.
I feel, not for the first time, people outside the US are
being treated as second-class citizens by Microsoft and I
think I would appreciate not being patronised by a special
offer which is nothing of the sort.
Your thoughts and comments please.

| I know what you mean and it's not just MS, it's most other companies which
belive that the US it their only market.
It gets me so made sometimes.

| I live in the US - so I may be biased - but it may also have to do with
shipping charges, and the demographics that the advertisers are willing to
pay for - so don't blame the publisher - blame the advertisers...

| I can't believe it costs very much to send a magazine over
the Atlantic but I can see you point about the advertisers
not agreeing to the offer. I still think though that most
of the companies that advertise in the mag sell plently of
their products in the UK as well as in the rest of europe
& asia, so I think they're being a bit short sited.

| I agree. Microsoft keep the Country in profile, it should use that.
