Kaleem,
The current MCSD track (Visual Studio 6) will not expire. Starting in
January 2002 any Microsoft certification you earn you will be able to keep
forever, without updating it. At some point the exams in the current MCSD
track will retire and no longer be available, but the certification will
still be valid.
You should pursue the MCSD track that most relates to your current work
environment. If you are doing most of your work in VB 6 and don't see that
changing any time soon, you should consider the MCSD VS 6 track. If you are
starting to program with Visual Studio .NET and anticipate a lot of your
future work involving .NET, then you should pursue the MCSD for Microsoft
..NET track.
