| No UML, design patterns, OOAD (or some very basic questions), and these are
some practices widely accepted and not proprietary, even VB was modified so
it is fully OO, but no real questions about it?... I guess it is considered
"too academic", but if you pretend to be architect, senior dev etc, you
should be familiar with it....

You are right, I was also surprised wth the lack of UML in the exam, even
so little questions of ORM , I think that the main different between the 100
and the 300 were the situation where a web service was used. Nevertheless it
was a good exam, the question are much better that the one I recall from the
100, but againg I feel that they should give more weight to the things you
mention.
Regarding the exam from IBM , I would love to pass a similar exam from
Rational, but they only offer it to theirs partners let's hope they
change their mind someday.
