This is really getting wierd.

Not only we were grilled 3 hours sitting the exam, but also need to hanging
here for 12 weeks for result.

I'm in the same boat here. I find it unacceptable that candidates taking
the live exam will know whether they have passed before I do.

A guy from VUE sent me an email saying the results will be available
by the end of the week. This is the second email I've had from him and
I've forgiven VUE as this is good customer service.

My only real complaint is the way results trickle out, surely the test
providers and MS can arrange for all results to be posted around the
same time?

You would think, but as I remember the same thing happened with results from
the VC++ 6 beta exams. Not only did I not see results until soon after the
exams went live, but the dates on my transcript was something like 2 days
before it went live (about 6 months after the betas). I had to fax in copies
of my "Do not lose this!" score sheets to get them to fix it. Just in case I
was lying and had actually taken the exams when they weren't available.

I was hoping that the unusual delay after announcing an exam date and anyone
seeing any beta results meant they were making sure results reporting was
being synchronized, but there are too many people who passed both other
betas for me to believe everyone without results so far has failed this one.
I even wonder if it means the beta process ignored some data. If there are
no results, does it mean MS did not have your beta info at all until now? It
would be a shame if their process for finalizing the live exam question pool
& cut score ignored valid data. Maybe they wouldn't even have needed to
extend the beta if they'd gotten everyone's exam attempt properly.

It's pretty ironic how the exams push the bleeding edge so hard and
instantly deprecate 'legacy' technology like COM and ADO, but the exam
delivery and certification tracking systems are obviously implemented using
far cruder technology. Which wouldn't be so embarrassing if it actually
worked reasonably well (as a lot of 'crude' systems do). I wouldn't be
surprised if there's a big .XLS file that gets emailed overseas for manual
data entry of new exam results, and then emailed back. Except there's an
extra step somewhere where completed certifications and MCT TCEC credits are
calculated separately.

OK, maybe it's not email. They might put it on tape and ship it via
overnight courier.

I understand MS is working with 3rd parties (VUE and Prometric), but that's
pretty much how it is for those of us in the Real World too.
