Hi all,
I'm preparing to take my 70-229 in the next week.
Just have a few questions on what to expect.

1. How many questions are on the exam?
2. How much time are you given to complete the exam?
3. What's the passing score on the exam?
4. Who's better Prometric or VUE?
5. Any tricks or hints on how to go about anwering the questions or to
watch out for?

TIA,
Suresh.

I don't remember either exactly, but I think it's something like 50
questions and a little over 2 hours to answer them. More importantly, I've
heard several times that people find the time allowed for this exam to be
relatively short. You'll probably want to check your pace every 5 questions
or so from the beginning to make sure you won't run out.

I don't think there's a significant difference for live 'standard' format
exams. I've used both for lots of exams, and just choose based on my
convenience (hours available and location).

I don't think there are any tricks, if you know the stuff it should be easy.
Managing your time is really the only 'trick'. For long questions, or those
with exhibits, I always try to peek ahead at what the question really is
before looking at all the background info. Rather than waste time with
irrelevant info that may only be there to lend some credibility to some of
the wrong answers, if the question is related to securing access to a table,
I know I don't care what kind of RAID configuration the server uses.

Another time saving technique is to compare answers, rather than evaluate
each one independently. In many cases, most of the answers have a lot in
common. You can stop thinking about those things and concentrate on the
differences. I will scan line by line between each answer to try to spot how
they differ as quickly as possible.
