| And I'm now three quarters of the way towards MCSD - should get there
by the end of the year ;-)
I was rather shocked by how few questions there were about the
InterDev application itself. Nothing at all on RDS, Scriptlets, Page
Objects, Form Managers, DOM, DHTML, and only one pathetically easy
question about DTCs.
Loads of questions about logical/conceptual design - at least the
first fifteen. Loads of questions about MTS, COM and ADO, so many in
fact, that they were essentially repeating themselves. If you know you
should use MTS to improve scalability, or you've passed either VB
exam, you're sorted ;-)
Several questions about deployment options, several questions about
stored procedures/triggers, and several questions about security, but
nothing overly difficult.
The one thing I was really surprised by was the number of questions
that turned up word for word from the online practice material
provided by BrainBuzz, CramSession, Transcender, 4Tests et al. I would
guess at least ten of them. I had absolutely no idea what some of them
were talking about, but I knew what the answer was because I'd taken
the practice tests. Definitely a worthwhile resource, but I'm not sure
what it means about the validity of the test ;-)
Also, I love the fact that you can move back to previous questions. I
had two questions about stored procedures. The first gave you a
definition, then asked something about a parameter. The second gave
you the parameters, and asked for the correct definition. Well duh!
Isn't that Back button a wonderful thing? ;-)
All in all, nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be.
