My sister- inlaw moved and has lost her system CD. How can she get a replacement? What information will she need to prove?

I presume it's the Operating System Disk.
There are a few ways, depending on case by case basis.

Is the PC unit self-built, OEM-vendor type or a branded PC type (like IBM, Dell, HP...etc)?

(1) For self-built, if you have the Windows CD-key sticker label on your unit, contact Microsoft and ask for advice for areplacement CD.

(2)For OEM-type, contact your vendor, for advice on the replacement CD. If unsuccessful, refer to (1).

(3) For branded PC, refer to vendor for the replacement CD.
