I'm a close to get my MCDBA and I have been working on development for quite
a while with some hands on networking and system admin. There is a chance to
go for cisco network and system admin moving from development at my company.

How do you compare the demand on both areas considering the if not
fictitious bad IT market at this moment?

Thanks a lot

does it have to be either or? By that I mean that some of the exams for a
MCSA/MCSE overlap with your MCDBA so why not get both and the Cisco certs
this way you fully cover all of your bases.

since you have a inside track on another position you would need to ask
yourself what do you like doing more.

I'm not sure about comparing demand for either position, but I'm fairly
positive that an MCDBA/CCNE is worth more than just an MCDBA alone. If you
have the time/money/will power to pursue both certifications, I'd say go for
it!
