I definitely agree that a college degree is a great asset, in the long run.
However, everyone is not cut out for college. The time, costs delay are an
immense obstacle for many people...remember Uncle Bill dropped out of
college too!

If you can afford it, take the college route, it will give you a "status"
that certification doesn't immediately confer. Many jobs won't even look at
a candidate's resume, for management positions, without a BS or MS.

However, you can work toward that degree, at a slower pace, while earning
and learning...if you get the certification. Many of us, had to take a
convoluted path to get where we are...just because a path is harder doesn't
prevent you from succeeding. Not everyone graduates from Yale or Stanford or
Harvard. Do what you have to, until you can do what you want.
