| There at way too many languages around. It really depends on what you want
to do
For web programming the ASP.NET thing is going to be big. Also php seems to
be even more popular now for web applications than asp
Java is also very popular and a very good language.

| Between PHP and VB, if one had to choose, which one would be the best to get
your foot in the door.
I want to learn PHP, but because of persuing MCSA and MCDBA, I think VB 6
will be a good investment.
Are there still a lot of thick client desktop applications still being
written, or even within a company/intranet, everything is moving to being
browser based. Because my feeling is that if an application written for the
browser can do the job, why write in VB and stuff. Just an outsiders view,
any input from people in the know?
I really want to learn PHP, but if learning VB could be more benificial, I
would do that first. Can't decide.
TIA
Tariq

| I would recommend learning C and PERL first
When you can code in C and PERL, then learning PHP will be a peice of cake and also VB will be alot easier to learn. | |
|
| Thanks,
I already know C. Never Programmed professionally, but can read and write
basic code. Ofcourse both PHP and VB are worth learnibg, but because of time
constraints, wanted to decide on one first. I think I will go for VB.
