HUMOR Re: technical questions used in a job intertview

| (following is humor, a facet that has it's pros and cons in an interview)
I know some of these...but I wouldn't get hired. Perhaps they should ask
"do you know where you keep your TechNet CDs and Admin Scripting and AD
resources?" and "So, what have you built and how did you learn it?". Gosh, I
don't want to be a walking book!
1. One is connectionless (TCP), other is not (UDP)
2. dunno. 6 somethin
3. ack! like how often do I run across that!
4. uh..dunno. rtfm.
5. an acronym
6. another annoying acronym (a.k.a "a.a.a.", btw)
7. Admins, Guests, Users, Power Users, People-who fudge things up, and
um....The Beatles
8. between a lowly user and GOD-LIKE ABILITIES. actually, install rights I
think. Same thing.
9. Full control allows a user to modify permissions. Change does not.
10. At shutdown, right?
11. Check the cables. Probably not on domain/network. Reboot into safe mode
w/network support, then without net support if that doesn't work.
12. Configuration information about the IIS config, I think. One step higher
than megabase
13. HTTP404 not found, and HTTP405, and "you must download acrobat reader"
or "would you like to install Flashplayer to clog your net connection?" or
"would you like to send this error message to Microsoft?"
14. the screen, then the floor, then the Exchange service and Exadmin tools,
muddle around in that incomprehensible set of objects until I find that one
little darn thingy that says "error logs" or something.
15. HKEY LOCAL MACHINE, HKey DYNAMO DATA, HKEY KAPS LOK, HKEY USER, and
HKEYBLOOUUEE, and HKEYCURRENT USERWHOSHOULDN"TBE MESSINGAROUNDWITHME, and
HAL
16. NT Challenge and Respond Rudely, BASIC for dumb users, and Anonymous
with the IUSR account (which you should NEVER change the password for,
stupid!)
17. dunno. says "Certified Organic by the FDA"
18. when DNS client looks for the DNS server? darn, I always forgt. At boot
when looking for DHCP server? Dang. Let me whip out my trusty dog-eared
cheat sheets....

| I might hire you based on the few questions you knew, a good sense of humor
and knowing that "your TechNet CDs and Admin Scripting and AD resources"
could help answer the rest.

| That is what I was thinking too... that's why I have all the references I
do. Plus alot of that can be found on the microsoft or other sites. or just
by working with it. Heck, if you try to memorize everything your head will
explode.
Beleive me, I have seen it... Not a pretty site....
But seriously you should know where to find things and know how the process
works not all the triva about it.
Even Albert Einstien didn't know his own phone number. He was quoted as to
have said something to the fact of why cloud my mind remembering useless or
unneeded facts that can be readily looked up.
I have tried to use that philosphy myself.
