put it on line, any suggestions on what the best Virus and
Firewall Protection is that's out their. I'm short on
time, and need some direction on who to get. Thanks.

| i like symantec for anti-virus/smtp/exchange protection.
as far as firewalls, i prefer cisco PIX. just remember, a firewall is
useless unless configured properly anyway.
if price is a concern, try using openbsd/pf on an old pc u have lying
around.

| Thanks JS, I've been looking at Symantec already. I've
been looking at Symantec AntiVirusT Corporate Edition and
Symantec Enterprise Firewall. The price is about wright
for what I need. I was curiouse on what else is out their
and what others are using. Thanks for the suggestions. You
know what I'm up against, all the help that I can get is
appreciated.

| Thanks Neil, I took a look at the PIX. They look good, yet
cost is an importaint factor in buying things. You know
what that is like. I'll have to call or email Cisco to
find out how much they cost. Unfortinatly they don't post
prices. Thanks again Neil.

I'll save you the trouble of contacting Cisco, they're bloody expensive.
The big quiestion is what are you willing to pay to sleep at night. We went
top of the line and our PIX boxes cost over $100K (but it does failover to
another PIX for full redundancy so we sleep really well at night <grin> )

I don't think you will get 2 PIX 535s for that price but the low end stuff
sounds about right...

| if you just need virus protection with spyware control,
Trend Micro has a small business edition of the server
2003 protect and 5 clients for download only for $140, you
can youe a broadband router firewall for further protection
this is the cheapest I could find to use with the 180 tral
version of 2003 advanced. There is a 30 day trail if SBS
from Trend Micro.
