| I personally have very little problems with windows XP. I typically shut off
the system restore as I was not impressed with it under ME so I figure not
much has changed. My thoughts are if you do a good install and then use
Norton ghost to do a image you do not need system restore. Of course you
need to follow practice of doing backups of user data. I think every MS OS
is subject to problems. I typically have found that if you install apps that
use the same DLL libraries but install different version of those libraries
they start to have brain farts. Even worse is when you install an older app
that may replace a DLL which was installed when the OS was. In this case you
replaced a DLL which the OS may use with an out dated DLL. Typically MS make
changes or improvements in the DLL as they release them which may cause
incompatibilities or instabilities with applications or an OS which is not
expecting these changes.
This is just one mans opinion so take it for what it is worth.

I have had zero problems with XP Pro.....just got a machine a few weeks back
with Home and have had no problems with it either. I think you are having
the problem between the chair and the keyboard if you ask me.
