Now that the windows 2003 MCSE track is nearly upon us,
Can anybody tell me when windows 2000 MCSE/MCSA exams
will be retired? I passed 70-210 & 70-215 a while ago and
then stopped studying. I want to persue 70-216 & 70-217
etc. providing the exams/track will NOT be retired within
say a year from now, NB: I dont mind if I have to take
2003 upgrade exams, but I want to be sure I have plenty of
time to complete the remaining win2000 exams.

appreciate all feedback / Laurence

I wish people would run a search on previous posts before asking the same
questions over and over. There is no expiry date at the present time,
someone from MS Training and certification posted here a while back saying
that because these exams still had a large demand they would probably be
around until 2006 or so.

Daniel,

I see you are A+ certified, I plane on taking the two exams next week. How
did you find them, easy/hard?

Thanks,
Ed.

Hey Ed,
I found them REALLY EASY, I passed both exams in 10 minutes total. The best
study resource for me after reading the books was to do the practise exams
at www.freecomptia.com as they were almost word for word what is on the
actual exam and the format is identical

But...
how long would it have taken to pass each exam if you had bothered to learn
the material instead of cheating. Anyone can pass exams when you have
memorised questions/answers from a website that has - quote "REAL QUESTIONS
FROM THE REAL EXAMS" In my view your MCP's are worth diddley.

just a thought...bye

Don Julio
well dumbass if you read my post you would have seen that I did indeed study
for the exam and after 8 years of experience in this field I do know the
material. Also if you look at the signature of my post do you see mention of
any MCPs at present? No because I only have the older NT MCPs and despite
what you might think I do not use or support brain dumps I use my work
experience and the information from the study guides to pass the exams.

So if you want to believe I cheated the A+ exams fine but do not try to make
broad statements concerning my level of IT knowledge without any basis in
fact. I only used the www.freecomptia.com site to be sure I was ready and
that my studying had prepared me for the exams.

Hey idiot! A quote from your post:

"they were almost word for word what is on the

That sounds like cheating to me. Take your attitude and
put it where you get most of your answers for any IT
questions you get on the job! (if you can't understand
that, let me give you a hint... Up your *ss)

it could all hinge on "almost"
and format.. trancenders, MS endorsed is of a similiar format to MS q's
(dunno about A+, no intention of doing it)
also trancenders could be said to be almost word for word

Gee big surprise the MCNGP mafia has shown up to defend one of its own.

Read the post again and see what was actually written there was no mention
of cheating only that the site gives you "The best study resource for me
after reading the books was to do the practice exams at www.freecomptia.com
as they were almost word for word what is on the actual exam and the format

the work and learn the material and not just memorize what is there how is
this cheating?

How is reading the questions before taking the test not cheating? Would
your college professor allow that?

Daniel Lawrence

ok I admit that the site is a cheaters paradise but I know that I did not
cheat the exam as I studied the material to the point I could answer the
questions in my sleep (from any source) and knew why answers that were being

It's probably my fault for asking the question in the first place. This is
my first step on the road to MCSA (and MCSE) certification. Rest assured I
WON'T be taking the road of braindumps. I'm not trying to antagonise people
here, but there is certainly no point in using these braindumps, as you'll
be caught out in the long run.

I simply wanted opinion on the A+ exam, first exam and all of that. As my
post stated I'm taking the exam next week, so I should be well prepared for
all eventualities, after weeks of hard study, using Mike Meyers literature /
MM pratice exams.

Thanks to All for your input...

Daniel

You say "you do not support braindumps". The website itself says "REAL
QUESTIONS
FROM THE REAL EXAMS", may I ask what your definition of a brain dump website
is?

I have seen the damage and cynicism first hand that brain dumps have caused.
Many times I have had to sit through MCP "type" exams and practicals at job
interviews in an attempt to weed out the cheaters. On a personal level, as
a man who has passed exams through hard work, commitment and without the use
of braindumps, I can't help but resent having to prove again and again my
integrity and expertise which my qualifications are "supposed" to stand for.

As I have already stated I was wrong to mention the site, to be honest I
never thought of it as a braindump but now that I have looked deeper and
listened to the comments here I will not mention the site again.

In fairness I doubt most people who use such sites think of it as wrong to
do so. Only when they mention it on a newsgroup like here and they are set

Laura,
You got your nose all bent out of shape over a relatively simple question
regarding the 70-218 exam and have decided to start a flame war which is up

Again, search for your posts. They're remarkably consistent in their

Laura,
I actually don't care about the bluntness its a bonus actually so no one has
to be worried about bullshit political correctness. The only reason for
behaving in a defensive manner is when you get responses with words like
dickhead in them or responses that do not address a particular question but
go off in a different direction.
