| It depends. The MCSE is more weighty because it has a few more exams
to take. However, the MCSA has more potential for those who are looking to
start a career in IT. Employers don't need a lot of people with the skill
set that MCSE provides. They need administrators to do the bread and butter
work of maintaining the workstations, file and print servers and creating
users and groups in the domain.
So you throw them an MCSE certification, they may think your over
qualified when you don't really have it. The MCSE certification has earned
the reputation as being a paper certification because people pushed their
way through the exams without having the experience. The MCSA has less
stigma because it is more commensurate with the amount of experience the
people have when they attain it.
