MCSE NT 4.0 to 2000?
|
|
| William H. George 2003-02-18, 6:23 pm |
| I have two techs who currently hold MCSE NT 4
certification, can someone tell me the specific
requirements to get them upgraded to MCSE 2k?
Is the upgrade path from MCSE NT4.0 to 2003 the same as
from MCSE 2000 to 2003? Or, can you even make that jump?
In otherwords, do you have to go in sequence, or can an
MCSE NT4 go to 2003, by simply taking the two upgrade
courses?

| For MCSEs on NT 4.0, the upgrade path for certification is to take all of
the exams. However, we have an excellent training solution so they can
quickly update their skills to MCSA on Windows Server 2003 and then continue
with the rest of the training path through our standard solution. There are
fundamental changes in the network infrastructure and skills needed, as well
as big changes in the server products. We found the best solution was to
provide an accelerated training solution but could not do that for the
certification. Please let me know if that ansers your question and is clear.
If not, I'll try to give a better answer and put numbers to the training
solution we have. :-)

| Andy, based on the (MS) I am assuming you are a Microsoft
representative. Am I understanding you correctly? In
order for my guys to go from MSCE NT4 to MCSE 2k they
have to take the full battery of tests?
What is the two-test Upgrade path all about? Does that
only apply for 2k to 3k, or something?

| The upgrade period for NT to 2K has been over for well over a year
now. In order to get the "upgrade" now, you must complete all tests.
The new upgrade applies for MCSEs on Windows 2000 that want to upgrade
to Windows 2003.
