Who's got more "weight" on job, current market and resume... (using with the
current Microsoft Certifications)
A+ or Net+?
Already prepared for both but with not enought money to take both tests now,
just one of 'em.....
Thanks in advanced,

If you're trying to get that first IT job, then maybe A+ is better known. Where I live many larger companies are beginning to require all help desk personnel to at least have the A+ certification. And the help desk and where you should expect to get that first break into IT. Keep in mind, however, if cost is an issue for you, that A+ is actually 2 tests - Net+ is only one. Best to you whichever you choose to go for.

agreed. Although obviously, those two tests prepare you for two different types of jobs... If you are interested in Repair and assembly of PC parts, then A+ rocks.

If you want to get a first foray into networking and hope to be an MCSE one day, then Net+ is the way to go.

If you are a newbie to computing in general, then do A+ first, then Net+

Hi.

Thanks for your commments. Newbie here, but not in other Microsoft Forum. I'm MCP and now looking for a Net+ or A+ Cert.

Must i say this forums looks nice, very respectful people and that's very important to me.

Well, i have more of 3 years of experience like IT Professional. I know HTML, FLASH, FrontPage and work with most Os (WINNT, W2k, Win9x, Unix) What im trying to do now is get soon a good IT Cert. that gives more "weight" to my MCP Cert. A+ could be easy for me, and most people could say is too late for get an A+ after 3 years and a MCP Card, but here, at Puerto Rico, USA, A+ Cert. is more popular than MCP or MCSE. Yeah, is true!

The other side is, Net+ is more important in my daily work (i work like consultant, for myself), 'cause most of my clients problems are related to Network and Software....

seriously, I would say that an MCSA/SE would be more marketable as a consultant than Net+. God knows I never got a gig because of Net+ -- but my dual MCSE never hurt
