ok need a bit of advice.
say you had offices in the usa and in germany. communication between the 2
offices were all done in english, but the offices in germany need to
communicate to others in germany using the german language.

i know that you can install the english version in both offices, and install
the german locale settings in the german office, but would would it be more
advisable to install the german version in the german offices and install
english locales aswell to switch between?
i had a question and was unsure which would b more advisable, the options
were 'english/german/translated/multilanguage, i know its either going to be
ebglish or german.

what would you select?

My advice:

Go with localized versions for the offices for Operating System and
Software (Word, Excel etc.) and have them switch to the english input
locale where necessary.

Reasons:

- easier for the native german-speakers to use the software

- normally the german input locale is quite sufficient for writing
english texts (I'm typing write with a german W2K and a german Input
locale)

Now that's a bit more tricky since it would depend on the actual
question.

The questions I've seen so far always assumed that a localized OS is
installed and the users have to type a document in another language,
most of the time it was german installed and spanish or french
additionally.

Then you close the document (if it is already open), select (or
install) the necessary language and input locale, switch to the input
locale using system tray and re-open the document.

I wish MS would pay me a dollar everytime I have to read:
