Hi ALL,

I have a question regarding networking with NT4.0 Server domain controllers,
and client side Windows 98 O/S.
I have setup a local domain lab at home with 2 NT4.0 Servers. 1 PDC, and 1
BDC with 1 Windows 98SE, Windows 98a O/S, and 1 Winnt4.0 Workstation.

In my network neighborhood. I'm able to gain access to resources, and see
all 2 Win98 O/S, 1 Winnt4.0 WKST, and my 2 Servers. My problem is getting
the NT4.0 SP6 Servers to do remote administration on the Win98a, and
Win98SE. Winnt4.0 WKST SP6 work fine. Each time I try to connect to the
Win98a, and Win98SE using System Policy Editor I get an error:

System Policy Editor:
!-Windows cannot connect to computerxxx. Make sure that you have
administrative privileges for computerxxx, that it is on the network and has
user-level access control enable, and that the Remote Registry service is
enabled on both computer.

Than on both Winnt4.0 SP6 Servers using Server Manager to connect to both
Win98 O/S an error occur.

Server Manager:
!-The Computer computerxxx is not configured for remote administration.

What could this possible be?

I have check its domainname is correctly configured. Static I.P. address is
assigned correctly, and subnet mask. I'm able to logon with NT domain user
account on the Win98 O/S successfully.
Windows 98 is setup for Remote administration (Enable) for (Domain admin.,
and administrator) Logon to NT Server Domain is setup. Installed MS Network
Monitoring services, MS Network agent off the Win98 CD's. Is there something
else I'm missing to setup for it to work with NT remote administration for
PDC to support Win98? or could be, that I didn't have a local administrator
account on both Win98 O/S? That shouldn't matter..no? Because I'm logon on
with domain user account authentication. Oh, and User-level access control
is enable on both Win98.

Any advices is very appericated in advance.

Thank you,
Mac

A+, MCP
