Author Candidate ID Question
Jay P.

2002-06-25, 5:25 pm

Can someone help me? I took the 70-210 test last month and was issued one
Candidate ID that allowed me access to the secure MCP site. Sunday, I
passed 70-215 and now have a different candidate ID and an email to use this
ID to register with the secure site. Is something wrong here or does that
sound correct? I just want to make sure that MS "sees" me and both exams as
the same.

TIA

Jay

You should only have one ID.

I was issued with two IDs after passing separate exams. It is definitely
*not* correct.

You need to speak to support on the telephone to resolve this asap. To cut
a long story short, I couldn't receive my MCSE until I had only one ID and
all passes credited to this ID.

It pains me to say this, but if you are outside of the United States, don't
ring your local Microsoft regional centre. Go direct to the USA. They will
be able to resolve this _much_ more quickly.

I still have both my cards :-)

I had the identical problem (I am in the UK) I emailed mcphelp@microsoft.com
and it was all resolved in a matter of two days. Two exams I have written
are not on my profile, but as this has only just been checked and I emailed
them a few minutes ago, one can forgive them for not having sorted it yet
:-)

Cheers

It took me three months.

Probably because I had taken the exams with two different testing companies.
Everyone wanted to blame each other; round and round in circles.

The Microsoft Regional Centre in Germany, although very kind and helpful,
were ineffective. It was only resolved by directly calling Microsoft in the
USA (and then it was fixed in two days :-)

Discovering some problems as well :-)

I can now view my profile and it is missing two exams from May. I contacted
the place where I sat the tests, they told me to contact MS. MS have told me
to contact Prometric who have told me to contact MS.

What fun.

Cheers
Mike
