Glenn,
Good luck! I'll be following your progress. I have made the attempt
several times, each with mixed results and ultimate failure. I am using RC1,
I have requested RC2...I guess it is still being evaluated.
What direction did you go, full Clean install or Upgrade over your
current configuration? My failures had been under Upgrade. I bought another,
larger drive to replace my system drive; after a Drive Image is taken, I'll
give it a go ....probably later this week or over the weekend.

I did an upgrade from 2000 to RC2.
I first did a backup with Norton 2003 (wow that utility has improved. I
just got it yesterday. I was using 2001).
The installation went smooth until.....
Microsoft has changed the permissions on things. I had problems getting the
..NET web site and web services running.
It was late so I had to fallback to 2000 using the Norton backup.
It will be an easy thing to fix but I will have to wait until next weekend
as I have users on that web site.
I really didn't like the XP GUI but I guess I will get used to it.

Did you recieve your "password" to use the restricted, private newsgroups
for .NET? That is where you are supposed to post, recieve assistance on
install related issues. I didn't get (or couldn't find) the number anywhere
in the information I recieved with RC1, that's why I requested RC2.

I didn't even know it existed.
I do know that there are permission issues with .NET running on a domain
controller.
I have to go set the permission settings on the IIS asp.net process. I read
it on the asp.net ng a while back and have to go find it again.
Thanks for the heads up.
