Hey what's up fellas, i'm looking to have somebody correct if i'm wrong here...as i need to sort some technical details.

Now... to my understanding an 802.11 fhss carrier frequency can have a maximum width of 5Mhz according to the fcc after the 8/31/2000 rule change, but before the rule it was 1Mhz, is that right?

Yes. In fact, it was specifically the change from a 1MHz to a 5MHz carrier bandwidth that allowed 802.11 to support data rates up to 10Mbps.
