Hi guys,
I want to know something when acting as WISP.
You have many costumers and sell them a dedicated bandwith for their services, these could be interconnection of their different sites or for internet access. You contract with them to provide for example 64 Kb wireless bandwith. Knowing that they are not supposed to have that full 64 Kb an even will reach approximately the 40 Kb depending of the quality of the link and the usage, for the reason of wireless transmission you know.
In the contract would you clairly stipulate or notice that to the client (the real throughput of the link)?
Or are you going to provide them a 128 Kb data rate to reach the real throughput which has been stipulate on the contract?

Kinds regards,

It all depends on how your contracts are written up. Do you state the line rating, or the actual throughput? Usually you want to state the line rating that you're giving but be sure to inform them that wireless is a half-duplex connection, and explain to them what that means.

For your WISP, are you dealing mainly with home users, or corporate techicians?

Home users usually want to know real speed, while corporate suits want rated speed.
