| Took the CWNA 2.0 test two weeks ago -- got 86% BUT felt that I was cheated out of reviewing my answers at the end. The Prometric practice exam that you take before the real exam showed how you can go back and review your answers at the end. That combined with experiences with other cert exams, I assumed I could do the same here. WRONG! To all who are taking this, HEED THIS WARNING. You will not be able to EVER look at your question again after you answer it. To the makers of the test: FOUL on you for not making this clear. You need to put a large notice on the first page stating this, especially since the Prometric directions beforehand inform you that you WILL be able to review your answers. All said, the test was fairly easy, with the exception of about 10 questions that really don't have right or wrong answers "Which of the following COULD you .....". Well heck, I COULD do all of the above, but you'll need to figure out which ones the test makers wanted. However, the new version tells you to pick two of the below choices (or whatever) on multiple selection questions. To make up for the above comment: THANKS to the testmakers for including this option. Many times, there were several cases where this made the difference.
I just took the CWSP course last week (Kevin, now you know who this is huh?). I have to say that it was a great class. You will work hands on with many pieces of complicated and expensive equipment. You will walk away with the confidence to put together a large, scalable security architecture for just about any client. I know the course price is a shock, but after attending, I can see that the schoolhouses have a large expense in just providing you with the tools to do the job in the labs.
Good luck! | |

| Congratulations on passing the test. I'll hopefully be joining you (as a "passee")when I take my test during the first week of August.
Would you tell me...did you find the offical study guide sufficient to pass the exam with an 80+ score? I'm trying to focus my studies on as few resources as possible (for now) and then expand on others later in the month.
Thanks and again, congratulations.

| I'm not sure why reviewing answers is such a big deal. Any psychologist will agree that your first instinct is the best and most accurate. Personally, I'm growing weary of all the whining about this. If you think the CWNA 2.0 was difficult, try being one of the hapless souls that passed the first one.

| What makes you think the CCNA is going to become two exams? | |

| I've been working with designing and testing 802.11 architectures and security solutions for about 10 months now. I browsed through the study guide. It definitely helped clarify certain items for me. I used the tests at the end of each chapter. If I did poorly, then I read the area of the chapter in detail for those areas. I probably would've passed without the study guide, but it was nice to have. For about 15-20% of the questions on the test, I was able to pick the right answer based solely on my experience playing with the equipment in lab environments. Good luck.
For the other poster about the whining comment. Don't confuse whining with attempting to prevent someone else from being misled.

| hi wirelessVSumts
can u elaborate on ur id please, what does it mean.
my advice would be to finish off ccna, with one exam, and start studying other subjects, like ccnp and cwsp.

| Nope, not confused. I know whining when I see it. Here's a tissue.

| We found out very recently about our test NOT telling the test taker that he/she couldn't go back. We asked Prometric to get that fixed immediately. They say it's taken care of.
The chance of you seeing CWSP study guides or courseware free on the net is nil...no electronic copies of any materials are available. ;-)

| My understanding of the CCNA exam is that it is one test.
The learning partners have always taught CCNA under two courses; Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices (ICND) and a CCNA Basics course, the two of those courses make up the training and education for the CCNA exam.
It is my understanding that a person can take the exam to 'test out' of taking the ICND course (the benefit would be that they can eliminate a costly one week course if they already know the material, and passing that test would indicate so, but it is optional....
My understanding is that achieving CCNA is still only one test...
If someone is more knowledgable on this subject, please post....

| Yes, they are changing the testing for the CCNA. If you are certified, you should have got the FYI email directly from Cisco. If you have not or are not, go check the site and read what it says instead of asking folks to clarify here or say you don't believe them....jeez! | |

| Just to clear up the notion that anyone thinks they were 'cheated' out of anything because they were not allowed to go 'back' and review any questions during or after the CWNA exam, this policy has been posted on the CWNP web site for a long, long time:
http://www.cwne.com/cwnp/taking_the_exam.html
"The exam does not permit going back and reviewing questions, or marking questions to answer later."
The reason for this policy is that many test-takers know that the answer to one question could be found in the context of another question, so you could search the exam to find a few answers. That doesn't test anyone's knowledge, now does it?
I highly recommend that anyone taking any test read ALL about the test prior to payin' their money and takin' their chances.
Happy 4th of July!
