Author Network Instruments Observer Suite Pro question

After the recommendation by Planet3 (from Devin I believe) I got my hands on a copy on Observer Suite Pro from Network Instruments. After installing it and having a look at it, I have a question.

I tried something as simple as the built in utility to ping another device on the network. When I do, it gives me an error saying the network is not accessable.

I have the software installed on a Win2K Pro box with SP3 installed. It has a static IP address of 192.168.1.200 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. The gateway (Linksys router) is at 192.168.1.1. However, if I drop to a DOS prompt, I can ping all of the other devices on my network (the Linksys, an Orinoco AP, a Win98SE box, etc.).

So, any ideas as to the issue at play here? Is there something special I should be doing with Observer to get it to work correctly?

Much thanks!

Just to also add, the NIC in the Win2K Pro box is an SMC EZ Card (10/100) with a model number of SMC1255TX. Not sure if that will make any difference.

Thanks!
