Is there job out there for CWNA or CWNP?

Anyone get a inteview opportunity with these two certs.

I feel it is about my time to work on these certifications.

Any good recommendation on book or practice test to prepare and study.

Thanks

I would suggest doing a search on this forum to get the answers to both of your questions.

Myself, I work with the technology in the company I work for (one of the larger cellular companies in the US). There are several other folks that do the same. As to other jobs, more and more are showing up on sites such as Monster and Dice. Just go do some searches there and you can see what is there.

As to taking the tests, you have to start with the CWNA. Obviously, their CWNA study guide is the best thing going. They (Planet3) also have a test engine that several of us bought and have had good luck with. AS for the CWSP, the only thing available is the Planet3 study guide and they should be coming out with a test engine for that here soon.

HTH!

I cannot catagorically say that I was able to get an interview based on the fact I have the CWNA cert., but it did come up during an interview I had last week.

The interviewer seemed impressed, or at least interested, because the company is working on rolling out WLANs for some of its locations.

The position was for a Helpdesk Analyst, so clearly someone in that position would handle tech calls about a WLAN if one was to be implemented.

I would suggest pursuing this certification track because it seems to be a segment of the networking market that is set to expand rapidly once certain security issues are worked out.

That's exactly why I am working on a Security+ cert as well. If you know traditional networking, WLANs and security...then you are pretty marketable. Especially if you have experience to go along with it.
