I am looking for suggestions on study material to assist in passing the CWSP exam. In addition to the CWSP Study Guide, I have found the following books and wonder if any of you have read them and can comment on their usefulness.

1. Peikari, Wireless Maximum Security, ISBN No. 06723224881
2. Nichols, Wireless Security, ISBN No. 0071380388
3. Maxim & Pollino, Wireless Security, ISBN No. 0072222867
4. Carter, Wireless Security End to End, ISBN No. 0764548867
5. Vines, Wireless Security Essentials: Defending Mobile Systems from Data Piracy, ISBN No. 0471209368
6. Swaminatha, Wireless Security and Privacy: Best Practices and Design Techniques, ISBN No. 0201760347

I have books #1 through #4. I would rate them in this order:

1, 3, 2, 4

I have a couple of others at the office. I'll post something up tomorrow.

I have read book #1. I think it was a good book for the most part. Lots of very detailed mechanics of how different encryption methods are generated.

I would add the Syngress "Hack Proofing Your Wireless Network" (ISBN: 1-928994-59-8) to the list of security references. It is a decent book. It does not cover all of the information the test will, but what it does cover it covers well.

Also check out "Building Secure Wireless Networks with 802.11" (ISBN: 0-471-23715-9). It also has some good information.

Another is "WiFi Security" (ISBN: 0-07-141073-2). It is pretty good as well.

That is the extent of my WLAN specific security books. However, on security in general, I also recommend the Syngress books:

"Snort 2.0 Intrusion Detection"
"Stealing the Network: How to Own the Box"
"Special Ops: Host and Network Security of Microsoft, Unix and Oracle" (good chapter on WLAN security)
"Security+"

And no, I don't work for Syngress! I just happen to like their books!
