I passed the CWNA test today. To prepare for it I took the 5 day official course from an independant instructor my company hired in. I also studied quite a bit for several weeks.

The majority of the questions tested my knowledge of the material. Some were very specific, a lot were general in nature. It seemed that FHSS questions were over represented. That may be because I didn't give FHSS as much study as DSSS and was less prepared to answer the FHSS questions. You always remember the questions that give you trouble and promptly forget the ones that were no brainers.

Subjectivity is a problem on a lot of the multiple answer questions. I found myself thinking "I know what you are asking inside and out, but I still don't know what boxes you want me to check." Knowing the material cold is no guarentee you will be able to determine how to answer the question.

All in all I found this to be one of the more difficult exams I have taken. I am new to wireless so that may skew my impression.

I scored an 84%, but with all my study I expected to do better.

If you expect to pass this exam, you will need to do the work and study. Good Luck.

NovellRed -

84% is a phenomenal score for someone new to wireless. That is far above the average score, and qualifies you for CWNT (Instructor) status for CWNA.

Thank you for the feedback on the exam itself. We have a living database of suggestions to continually improve our exams, though our goal is to keep them very challenging.

Thank you also for explaining how you prepared. It is a good lesson to be learned that taking the official class - while it can be expensive - is the best way to learn the material, get hands on experience, and do very well on the exam.

Congratulations, and best of luck in your future wireless endeavors.

The Exam is very hard. I am new on Wireless Technology. When I touch the book at the first time, I feel quite hard to understand. So, I have purchased many related books to make me understand of it. Woo~~~ I have studied it for a month already. I still not confident to pass it.
