| Hi,
I have the CWSP Official Study Guide as well as the CWE online practice tests. I will probably sit the CWSP exam in the next week or so.
Does anyone have any other study hints for the CWSP?
Thanks | |

| Having spent the last two months wireless with the need to take a few Microsoft exams and also the Security+ exam so I could meet the continuing education requirements associated with my MCT, I am going to start refocusing on the CWSP exam. I also have the book. I have not signed up for the online practice exams. That is something I need to do. I read through the Official Study Guide and I did not feel as comfortable with it as a source as I did with the CWNA guide. Seemed a bit light on content. However, it is getting great reviews at amazon.com.
What did you think of the online practice exams? Not much out on the web. You can see a bunch of geeks taking the course at Security University. Go to:

You might want to try at the forum on the URL below. Seems to be a little discussion on the exam:

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

| Damn I hate it when my posts don't make sense. What I meant to say is that I've been focusing on necessary exams to maintain my MCT, but I am switching gears and getting back to CWSP exam prep.

| Well....
"Real 802.11 Security: Wi-Fi Protected Access and 802.11i" by Jon Edney and William Arbaugh is a good wireless security book.
Don't know if it will help you out at this point, but it is a good reference book to have on hand.

| Thanks for the quick response – Aren’t you supposed to be asleep?
For the CWNA I thought that the Official Study Guide and Online Tests are thats needed.
As for the CWNP, Wireless Security is changing fast. Books printed last year are probably out of date. However the Official CWSP Study Guide looks relatively up-to-date on current wireless security technologies.
I have only just passed by CWNA so don’t have my tracking logon. It would be interesting to see the breakdown of CWNA/CWSP per geographic region Anyway I will focus the CWSP and see how I go. | |

| I plan on taking the CWSP exam in about 4 weeks. I took the class through Technet in Ga last month. Due to Isabel I had to miss the last two days (all of the VPN labs). Anyway I will use the study guide and any extra info I can get my hands on. I would appreciate any advice as to what to expect and will gladly help anyone if I can. Good luck to all! | |

| Hi,
With regards to "Real 802.11 Security: Wi-Fi Protected Access and 802.11i" by Jon Edney and William Arbaugh - ISBN: 0-321-13620-9
I have been reading and re-reading this book over the last week or so. It gives very good detailed information on the issues with WEP, what WPA provides and why/how it was designed. It also goes on to discuss why/how design of 802.11i.
I would certainly recommend this book. |
