I have been interested in the wireless field for a while. I have taken and passed the CWNA test back in March. Planet3 has been working on the the rest of the exams for thier Wireless professionals exam track. Wireless security exam is slated to be released sometime during the summer of 2002. And the intergration exam sometime later.

Does anyone know the exact date or the progress of these exams?

What are the best books to read for Wireless Security and Site Surveying?

The only way I can rate this test is to relate this test to Cisco Tests that I have taken. I am not sure if you have taken any Cisco test.

The questions on Cisco test can be encryptic, (you have to figure out what Cisco is asking before you attempt to answer the question).

The CWNP is not like that at all. the questions are fair and so are the answers. I looked at the practice test on this site and found that they were fair as well. I wish I new about these practice tests before I took the test back in March.

The questions are multiple choice, there is a chance of over guessing and under guessing the correct answers.

You can mark question you are not sure of and then return back to them at the end of the exam.

CWNP is offering classes as some local community colleges as well as some education centers.

I took a class at a local community college, (it was a waste of time, and the text book was expensive).

I purchased the CWNA study guide they offer on their web site (The Study guide was better then the text)

I purchased the practice test from Boson. This is a good test. It point to some technoloy that is not referenced in the books I read but is on the exam.

I also read Wireless LANs (2nd Edition)by James T. Geier, Jim Geier. This is an good book.

to answer your question, "how would I rate this exam?" I would rate this as an 8 of 10 and it really test your understanding on the technology.

I would also recommed (if you have not already) that you purchase a AP and some client cards and play around with them before taking the test.

If I can be of any more help, I will be more than happy to do so.
