| Hello,
I am preparing for MCAD 70-306 (Developing Windows based Application with Microsoft Visual Basic.NET)
I am following MCAD/MCSD self-paced training kit from Microsoft.
Can you please suggest what material is good for this exam? This is my first Microsoft exam so I do not know what materials/books to follow.
I see lot of kits on internet for around $350. Any idea if these are good?
After this exam I am also planning to write 70-305,70-316 and 70-310.Can you tell me which books are good for these exams.
I heard that some test papers are also available for these exams.can you suggest me which ones are good and where I can get them.
Your suggestions regarding exam material will be very helpful.

| Hi,
I followed the same book and cleared the exam. The exam contains 57 questions that u must answer in about 2 hrs and 20 mins. I wouldn't call it an easy exam. They do give u a lot of unwanted information in the questions.
However, be sure to go through the practice test on the CD that comes with the exam guide. Most of the questions are in this pattern. Also, be sure to concentrate heavily on ADO.NET. Read as much online help as possible from MSDN. And u should be able to clear.

Hi,
Congrats for clearing the exam, can you please guide how to study for 70-306 exam, I'am 7+ yeras exp candidate and currently planning for 70-306 exam, please let me know where to prepare it from, any suggestions in books, are welcome.
Also if you have study materila soft copy, i would be gratefull if you could send it to me.

| Hi,
I do not have any soft copy for study materials.The best place for study materials is the MSDN online library. Do not depend on just the book. Read as much online help as possible and focus heavily on ADO.NET. That should do the trick. Good Luck.

Thansk for being prompt,
surely I will be reading it from MSDN site, but just wanted to know is there is book you would like to suggest for primary reference.
Also do you have any dumps, or practice tests.
I will surely read a lot about ADO.NET.

For dumps, all I did was search the net. There are quite a few available. I also used measure up practice tests.
But the question patterns are very similar to the ones on the CD that comes with the study guide.

I might be awfull by asking this question, but whihc study guide u r mentioinaing about, is this CD from some book, or ?

As per your say, I found out and discovered following two books.
1. MCAD/MCSD Self-Paced Training Kit: Microsoft .NET Core Requirements, Exams 70-305, 70-315, 70-306, 70-316, 70-310, 70-320, and 70-300
2. MCAD/MCSD Visual Basic(r) .NET(tm) Windows(r) Applications Study Guide (Exam 70-306)
Now u suggest me, are you suggesting any of these 2 books or u have all together some selectiion.
