| You have been called into a meeting to discuss recent changes to software policy and implementation with the CIO. You are a domain administrator for Xzq.com, a Windows 2000 domain consisting solely of Windows 2000 Server and Professional computers.
The domain is structured as follows:
XZQ.com:
Administrator OU
Help Desk OU
Production OU
Sales OU
File Server OU
Domain Controllers OU
Your company has received a new software application called DOMINATE! used by the sales team that some Help Desk technicians may need access to. The program is usually installed from CD using a file called dominate.exe and at this point the software producer does not offer a Windows Installer package.
For security reasons the distribution must be limited to the Help Desk technicians who support the sales team and the Sales team. The Help Desk technicians currently have the ability to install and uninstall applications on their systems, however the Sales team does not.
There will be a new image for the sales staff that will include the DOMINATE! application on it, that is scheduled for a roll-out within the next two weeks. Until then, the sales team will have a limited initial deployment to a small number of users who have been supplied to the administrator that handles the sales area.
There are no plans for upgrading the help desk image and the help desk staff will need to be able to install the file on demand and will manually uninstall the program upon completion of the call.
The implementation of your plans will take place within 15 minutes and the company will concurrently be migrating all Windows 2000 computers to Service Pack 4.
