I already a domain by the name of coco.local and now tried to add one subdomain for practice purpose.

I run 'DCPROMO' but teh wizard shows:

'This computer is already an Active Directory domain controller. You can use this wizard to remove Active Directory services on this domain controller.

Removing Active Directory causes this computer to become a normal windows server.'

???

I just want try to 'add' not to remove.

Wonder what's going on now. $&(n?%&)&%$&)?

To do so run dcpromo on another server computer.

Dear smithy4u:

Thanks for your advice.

My lab only includes one server with two wek professional stations.

So if it is needed to run dcpromo from another server, then I have to set up another server to do so.

Thanks again.

you can`t make a server a DC of 2 domains. If you run dcpromo and have a domain now, you can`t run dcpromo again to prepare another domain. if you run dcpromo on this server is only for meke a demotion and kill AD.

you need a 2nd server to make the child domain.
