Easy-Peasy-Japanesie

It was very easy. It was 50 questions and it was not adaptive. Lots of AD, OU administration, IIS, and a few (maybe 3) questions on system performance questions (ie pagefile, mem usage, disk IO and how to tell what you need to optimize).

Also, a few question on RRAS, IAS, and policies (inheritance, permissions).

Know you permissions for NTFS & Sharing (and what the combined access levels are).

I used Transcender and testking.com - If you can not afford the Transcender - You have to have the testking sheet. Let me just say that the testking study guide helped ALLOT!!!!

I studied about 3 days. Took it and passed. However, I have quiet a bit of experience so that helped out.

Good luck!

I plan to study 30 days. So did you use any book at all. So your telling me you know DNS, DHCP, IIS, AD and RRAS pretty well to do the exam in 3 days. You can always learn new stuff from a book which you might not encounter in the real world. The book atleast would be a good reference tool.

Just to clear this up folks. This exam should NOT be taken lightly. I would suggest more than 3 days of study, a lot of hands on and recommand AGAINST the use of testking because it is nothing more then a BrainDump. testking is nothing but a shortcut.

Sure it's easy. Any test is easy when you can see the questions before you take the exam. If you had all this experience, why did you feel the need to resort to using a glorified bdump that testking is?

Well done Pinkman, I have to agree with you on how easy this exam is but I had already done 210, 215, 216 and 217. I found 218 introduced very little new on top of these exams therefore if you have done the core exams this is a walk in the park. After having bought books for the core I'm glad I didn't waste money on a book for 218. I just did some practice exams to make sure I had the knowledge required and then sat it.

People who are doing this exam early in their 2000 track may find it more difficult than I have described. I don't think 218 should be an elective for MCSE as it doesn't offer much new on the core and you are required to do the core for an MCSE qualification anyway.

I did not use a brain dump. It took me 8 months.
