For all MCSE 2k people who pass both upgrade server 2003 exams, the MCSA status is automatically received!!!

Actually, the Exam 70-292 upgrades the MCSA 2000 to 2003.
Read here

Then, the Exam 70-296 upgrades the MCSE 2000 to 2003

Read here

So you have got to have your MCSA 2000 first to get the MCSA 2003.

This is how i understood it anyways, please correct me if i am wrong.

292 upgrades MCSA 2000 to MCSA 2003.

The combination of both 292 and 296 upgrades MCSE 2000 to MCSE 2003.

If you are MCSE 2000 but not MCSA 2000, passing both 292 and 296 will only give you MCSE 2003 status. You won't become MCSA 2003 automatically.

Just re-read the FAQ page and it says:

-----
Q. According to the upgrade requirements, if I am an MCSE on Windows 2000, I must pass the MCSA upgrade exam as well as the MCSE upgrade exam. Why is the MCSA upgrade exam necessary?

A. The Windows Server 2003 upgrade exam for MCSAs covers a direct subset of the job tasks that are included in typical MCSE skills. The skills tested by the MCSA upgrade exam are expected to be part of an MCSE's job tasks.

Q. If I am an MCSE on Windows 2000 and upgrade to MCSE on Windows Server 2003, will I automatically become certified as an MCSA on Windows Server 2003?

A. Yes, Exam 70-292: Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment for an MCSA Certified on Windows 2000, part of the upgrade path for an MCSE on Windows 2000, includes objectives that validate the skills set of an MCSA on Windows Server 2003.

Apparently Alex is correct. My mistake, and my apology to Alex.
