Hey all........ I usually just plain "lurk".....but was damned happy today after passing the 218 exam and wanted to share with everyone!! This was the first cert test I'd taken in over a year. I must be rusty or something... I kept reading everyones posts, and kinda thought it would be cake. Well, it wasn't...at least not for me. More like stale bread. Harder than I expected. I used Transcenders, the MS Press book ( which I just could never make it all the way thru...ugh...rather have root canal than read that again) and daily experience. I guess a pass is a pass. This one gives me the honor of calling myself "MCSA". Just in time to get ready to do the upgrade for 2003. Gee, I'm excited.

Congrats to ya' mikeman.
It felt harder to me as well, i had 63 Questions on this one, everybody else got 50 and tell me, it is a piece of Cake!
But... a pass is a pass.
I have ordered some Books for 70-292 and 70-293 already, just got to kill the 217 next Week and then 219 3 weeks later.
Windows 2003 is supposed to launch on 04/24/2003, correct me if i'm wrong.

Damn, that's so soon. I have to finish my MCSA 2000 before the release of 2003. I scheduled 216 for 07/04/'03.

Deja-vue, you passed 4 exams and you're going to take 217 and 219. Which will be your last exam? MCSE is 7 exams, isn't it?

Congratulations Mikeman! It looks like you are on the right track. Thanks for the advice since I plan to go in that direction. I think I might need to hit the books a little harder. Moving to Texas? When is the big move? I lived there for a couple of years but was glad to leave. Maybe you will enjoy it more than I. I hope that you won't be traveling alone and that you have a job lined up because they are hard to come by. Again, congratulations and good luck.

Goldfish2......... What part/where in Texas did you live? You are the first person I've heard that DIDN'T like it there! No real timeframe, just on my list of "things to do".

Unrelated note: anybody got ideas on the order of exams ? Are 217 & 221 alike? Thanks in advance........

Mikeman, we lived in Travis County. A place called Oak Hill about 5 miles from Austin. It wasn't really that we didn't like it there, it was ~ok~. It was very HOT, too hot to even go outside in the summer time. The humidity is out of this world. And I guess like every other place it all just becomes the same after awhile. Nice place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there again. It just made us too miserable. We live in Towson, MD right now and have been here for 4 years now. The money is better, the job market is more stable and the humidity doesn't kill you in the summer time. But good luck to you if that is what you want to do. Hope it works for you.
