| Passed 070-218 yesterday. Now I'm MCSA, and all I need is 070-221 for the MCSE. Phew!!
Although I've been reading these threads for about 6 months, I haven't posted until now. I just want to say "thanks" for all of the good advice that's shared here, especially by the senior members. This forum has helped me accurately determine when to sit for the exams. 070-220 ate my lunch the first time around, but I got it on the second try.
As for my preparation methods, I've read the 4 core MCSE study guides by MS Press, which I think are difficult to read, very dull, and often times inaccurate (forget about getting the labs to work!) I've learned far more from the first 150 pages of Mark Minasi's "Mastering Win2K Server" than I did in the entire MS Press suite. Mark Minasi is a fantastic reference for everything Windows, and I can't overemphasize that. Also, the Transcenders are a little expensive but worth every penny - they really helped me identify my weak areas.
Best of luck to everyone. Times are tough out there, and getting certs won't solve everything, but they do help. I got my current job largely because of the certs. Now I'm being paid to learn data networking and IP Telephony - a job better than I could've imagined. | |

| congratulations!! way to go!! you only need one more 221!! i pass 221 today... very very hard..... i pass with too poor score, but donīt worry, 221 accept partial credit!!!! i pass thanks to partial credit!!!
