| Hi guys
I have taken and passed the 210 I am taking the 215 tommorrow. I see alot of taking the 218 and then I am done post. I assume you are getting your A+ and N+ certs. Is this the best way to go or should I take 218 and then 216. I want to eventually get MCSE, MCSA and N+.
Let me know what you think | |

| I purchased the two books from MS Press and used those to study for 70-218. I took the readiness test from the CD included with the readiness review book. I passed with no problems. The other thing that I did was to do every exercise in the text on my lab computers. That helps immensely. Keep going and good luck. If you need any help please send me a note.

| I think either one can come first because 216 and 218 is inter -related to each other. You can kill two birds with one stone. | |

| Pam9366...
The CompTIA Certs, will count towards your MCSA, but I'm not sure if it will count towards the MCSE. Also, the tests are more expensive than MS tests. I would foucus on the Microsft track. The CompTIA tracks (A+, Network+, Etc) don't really have much draw in the workplace anymore. and A+ is really only useful if you plan on working on PC's all day, which if your planning on ascending to yur MCSE, would be the job of a junior tech. I would reccomend a CCNA in addition to your MCSA/MCSE. also, a lot of the Network+ info is covered in the Microsoft Course 2151 "Microsoft Windows 2000 Network and Operating System Essentials", which is usually the first class in the MCSA track.
I hope this helps. | |

| Thanks for the information.
In talking with the MCSE we consult with at work, she said basically the same thing you said.
I am going to get my MCSA with 210, 215, 218 then 216. Then I am going to upgrade to server 2003. Then I need to take the xp exam and a exchange exam then i am going to do the ccna then I will probably be done. I really don't want to design or install systems just want to work on them.
