| guys,
Despite what people says about 70-216 being the beast, I myself find it "easier" than 70-218. The "beast" is familiar to me (I think) is due to my experince with CCNA test which i took last year and passed. Or maybe its due to my experience in Internetworking with Cisco and other networking products in the last 10 years.
I find that 70-218 is a bit harder (maybe newer) to me as I do not deal with IIS, DNS and ADS as much as IP, frame relay and switching.
What do you guys think?

| 218 is broad coverage of knowledge required to minimally administrate a W2K network.
216 gets into the nuts and bolts of the physical and logical aspects of the network infrastructure.
Your background with routing and switching has probably prepared you pretty well for that aspect of 216.
218 is a nice elective exam for MCSE because it awards the extra cert. and is a fair preparation for 217.
218 & 217 will be most difficult for anyone who does not deal with implementing or using AD and group policy in an active environment. | |

| My guess is that if you were to sit for both exams, your initial feelings would change.
216 deals with all that you state you are not that familiar with on a more comprehensive and situational level than the 218.
Besides subnetting and VPNs, I do not think the Cisco background would really tie into either of the 2 exams.
Good luck no matter which you chose first |
