| I'm in the process of startin gto study for the 218 and I was wondering how would you rate the Que self paced book compared to the MS Press self pace book? I would appreciate any help? Thanks | |

| Does QUE = ExamCram2?
If so, I would recommend both. QUE is a quick read, and the MS Press has some good lab type questions and a nice objective review in part 2 of the book.
If you have to pick just one of those, I would go with the MS as it is more comprehensive. Others here may have suggestions for other titles too.

| I used the same thing as well. MS press book (2nd edition, the blue, not white ones) and the exam cram2 book.
I hardly passed because I was lazy, but there is definitely plenty of info in those 2 books to pass easily. | |

| I think I know which books that you're referring to. I've got the Que MCSA 70-218 book as my initial study guide. It's the thick blue book with the title in an orange bar an a checkered flag in the lower-right corner. Heck, the ISBN is a better help. It is 0789727668.
I really liked this book. It was the first Que book that I've used as my primary study resource. If you've got a mini-lab set up for hands-on exercises then I would suggest that you just read through the book and not practice with the step-by-step exercises. Instead wait till you finish the chapter and do the hands-on exercise that's at the end. However, whatever works for you is best.
I also got the Exam Cram 2 for 70-218. I really like that too. No matter what I use for my initial study guide I always follow it up with an Exam Cram book.
If I've got practice testing software like Transcender or Bosun, I'll do them before the exam too. They really focus you in on the material which is nice. They are really tough so I don't care what my final scores are 'cause they really over test you.

I'll be finishing my Exam Cram 2 tonight. Throughout the remainder of this week I'll go over a few things that I'm not to comfortable with that's in my Win2k Server Admin Companion book. I think that I'll do fine. I expect to take the exam on Friday, so I should be MCSA by Dec. 5th!  |
