| In preperation for the 70-218 exam I have been working thru "Step by Step Guide to Understanding the Group Policy Feature Set" for on technet Windows 2000 Sever How to Resources. I see how and have done the "Editing a Group Policy Object" and understand that well.
When trying to "Add or Browsing a Group Policy Object Link" I don't see how to get to that part. There is a picture on page 11 of that paper that I can not seem to understand how to get to. The figure number is 6 "Add a Group Policy Link".
If anyone has worked thru this a gets the results as stated in the paper I would like to know how to do this. Linking is an important part of learning the Group Policy.
Thanks,
Kenny | |

What I see on my compute with Windows 2000 Server and AD installed is different from what is show in the Step by Step guide.
This what the guide says it should
look like. | |

| This is what mine looks like.
Man I am having trouble uploading files
the size that works.
The question is, Why is mine different from what the guide shows?
I understand the explainations on what linking does.

arrrrggg is a nightmare to follow this post with attachments!! better is to put the images just on the posted windows to better understand the issue.
and donīt use bmp files!! bmp are not compressed. remember to convert image files to jpg or gif, audio to mp3 or wma.
|
| GPO can only be used on OUs, Sites and Domains.
If you want to test GPOs, you can make an OU, add a user to the OU, properties of the OU, GPO, new, edit the GPO and done!

Basically, just select the GPO from the list and choose OK or double-click it. If you click the site tab you will find GPOs linked to sites, similarly, the all tab will list all the GPOs. Simply select the GPO you want to add and either click OK or double-click it. Also, you have a look in box, like you have when you are selecting Groups, Users, or Computers from an ACL. Simply select the correct place to look in.
The list of GPOs will consist of both active and disabled GPOs. Disabled GPOs are GPOs that are not currently active. To delete or disable a GPO, simply select the GPO from the list and choose the delete button or right-click it and choose delete. You will be presented with a dialogue offering the choices to disable it or permanently delete it. If you think you may reuse the GPO at some later time, simply disable it instead of permanently deleting it. You should always keep your GPOs to a bare minimum for better performance, therefore, disable any unused and unnecessary GPOs.
Could you tell me, where I select attach to attach an image to a post like you guys are doing?

Well that's what I've been doing, but when I submit the post, the attachment does not appear. Also, it doesn't appear when I preview the post; should it appear when I preview the post also?
Lets see, I trim the jpeg or gif image down to 300 x 300 and save it first. When I attempt to post it, I click the browse button below, find the file I saved in the open file dialog that pops up, select it, and click OK. When I preview the post, the attachment isn't present, and also when I submit the post, the attachment is still not present. What I am I doing wrong?

Thanks, I got it. At least for me, if I preview first, it doesn't work, but if I skip preview and just submit, it works.
