Don't take this exam lightly. Passed it today for the MCSA. Took 210 and 215 before the 218. I thought the 218 was MUCH harder than the other two. Questions were so wordy having to scroll down to read all info. Had multiple exhibits on many questions. I do think since my network is still mostly NT, this hurt me a bit. I got 51 questions for my exam and thought I was screwed after the first 20 questions. Didn't even go back to review marked items. I got hammered on GPOs and OUs. Very little troubleshooting or printing issues. A few ARC path questions. For this exam I sat for the class and used Freaks site/notes, Exam Drill, Transcenders along w/some hands on. I always do my homework for any exam, not just using practice exams. But, it is nice to take an exam and see a few questions that seem familiar. Transcenders in my opinion for this test were the worst Ive seen. But the Transcenders do help you learn the material. But if you're expecting to get the same questions on the exam that you saw in Transcenders, they won't be there. Not even close...Adios.

Finally someone who agrees with me. The 218 Transcender sucks, don't waste your money folks. Just wish I had got 51 questions like you dude. I had 61 and was declared dead after around question 20.

This isn't an easy exam I'm glad someone else agrees with me.

Didn't use the transcender (Don't anyway) but as a rule they have a great reputation so I guess that others should take heed.

A networking, support and trouble shooting exam that provides the administration certification know these areas well and you are almost certified!

Congratulation on your pass.

I also agree. I got a little over confident and didn't even crack a book for it, since everybody was saying it was a piece of cake. I just walked in there with what I knew, but somehow I managed to pass it though. I wish I could have seen my score. I thought for sure I was going to fail it. I thought it was a fair exam though. One of the funner ones I have taken.

Oh, congrats on the pass. Great job.

Congrads on the pass. I myself said it was a fair exam of 60 questions. Well questioned and refreshed upon the first 3 core exams

Hi Cris,

I agree totally, straight forward in the approach and a combination of the core exams into troubleshooting and administration.

This exam tests your knowledge in a support environment.

Like I've said before not difficult but not easy to the point of obvious.

Transcenders are bad and expensive. I have purchased Transcender for 70-218 and found it useless. It costs me about $150!!! The only good thing about Transcenders is the explanations. However, you can find great explanations in products from some other vendors - EasyCert (http://www.jrksoftware.com)and Exam Essentials (http://certify.com) for example. However, Exam Essentials do not offer testprep for 70-218 yet.

In addition, I have managed to obtain 70-218 study guides from ChainaIT and TestKing. Well, these two are exactly the same braindumps collected from those braindump sites. They are full of bad wording and incorrect answers. So, please, don’t waste your money for these.

The best product for this exam I’ve seen is EasyCert. You get questions which are very close to the real thing (+ accurate exhibits, + explanations). The engine is great and contains all the simulation questions.

Hope this review will be helpful for you! I will try 70-218 in a few days, so, wish me luck!

The experience is interesting to say the least. The test was at 1:30p, got there at 1:00p, the power was out for the block... summer in FL! Did not take the exam until 2:30p...

It was 50 questions and about 2.5 hours for it. I used about 1:05. It has been awhile since I took MS exams, I got my MCSE 2k last May. I guess that they don't tell your scores any more? It just told me that I passed, Now I can put up the MCSA sign!

The test was average, lots of GPOs, if you don't get the GPO, you will not pass. I got a couple SQL questions, suprise!!! I like to know how I scored, though...

Thanks folks for all the kind words. As I sit here at my notebook at home on a day off from work with a wireless connection to the notebook and a cold beer, I'll be heading over to the CCNA folks for that cert. Ive been in the biz for 18 years, heck, at the same company for 18 years and just now getting the certs. For all the folks going for the certs, yes, I do feel as a manager of an IT department its worth all the work. Ive been learning boatloads of stuff by going for the A+, Net+ and now having the MCSA. Why is an 18yr vet going for this stuff? I just like to learn it. I like going into a vendor meeting and knowing if Im getting BS. I like being hands on and helping my staff. Good luck to all and thanks for the help. Stopping by the forum does help out! And if you want to stop by and see me, please visit at ...http://www.sigmoncpa.com. Adios...

I figure I will do N+ and S+ next week, once I am in a study mode, I crank out as many test as I can before I get sick, then wait for next year...

The one I realy want to get is the CTT+, I would like to teach!
