I`m using transcenders for 70-218 and I think it`s a great prepare software. But I`m using it the first time. A friend of mine just want to have his mcse he is cheeting arround the whole time. I allways say pls. learn because you will need it if a company will hire you. but it has no sense. however.... he says he prepares with testkiller (funny name I think) and testking (sounds like cheeting sheets *g*)... he also looked at my transcender simmulation and he says I should use his stuff because transcender isn`t a good prepare stuff it has no questions concerning the core 70-218 that are usefull.

Now I don`t know what to do I read the mspress book and I use transcenders is my chance to pass the exam high or low. I love this kind of learning I love it to be able to daministrate and so I would never choose cheatsheets like my friend...

My question :
transcender a cheeting ware ore just prepeare stuff thats ligally.
Will I pass the exam if I pass the transcender simmulations ?

Sorry but it`s new for me this kind of prepareing and I don`t want to be just an paper MCSE I just wan`t to be proud of myself and not of dammXXXXing learning comming questions.

Pls. post fast my exam is on 22.07.2002 and I have only three days left to learn maybe I read the mspress book again if transcender isn`t enough.

@all thanks for reading this threat I`s good to know that there are some people who are interessts about this kind of questions.

what I look for is

*value added*

I have seen testkiller stuff, fairy inaccurate, full of error. They are what many term *glorified dump*. When they try to get pass the copyright law, they butcher the question in their attempt to rename/reword with the end result being nonsensical junk.

will one be able to pass the exam with that? possible... with a pass mark around 500-700, it isn't hard to just *get by* with some luck.

with the way microsoft word its question, there is a lot of room for you to think it through and arrive at the best answer. what the value added study aid like transcender do, as you prolly notice, is that they spend a lot of time in explaining why the answer is this and that... lots of time you learn more by the explaination than just looking at a question and its answer. You want to learn how to approach a question, how to work through a question, not be spoonfeed questions/answers. They also have a pretty extensive references to material in their explaination if I remember correctly.

If you truly want to learn and can afford the pricier exam prep that are accepted by the industry. (transcender.com/selftestsoftware.com/I am sure there are others), they are definitely the way to go. They prep you in analizing the question and probe your understanding, rather than just feed you question and answer. Honestly, some of the border line exam prep are so full of error it does you more harm than good. Also, an important thing to keep in mind. Although I didn't fully research this as I really don't have an interest in finding out the truth, I believe Testkiller was Troytec which was cheatsheet. cheatsheet was sued by comptia and forced to remove comptia material. they later rename (or sold it to someone as they would like you to believe) and it became troytec, then it became testkiller which I believe according to some report had their offices raided by police on the advice of Microsoft for violation etc... so that should tell you how legit they are...

I applaud your desire to learn, there is various reason/justification to cheat but with the cert/IT industry as it stands now, everyone is lot more wiser to the paperness of some and it really does not take much probing to find out if someone really did not earn it. What could be more embarassing to show up for technical interview and get laugh out of the office...

use a legit reputable study aid, use good books, also as you did not mention, make good use of www.microsoft.com/technet
that site is your lifeline at work and is great indept resource to supplement any study.

edit: I didn't address your question about if by passing transcender, is your passing of the real exam guaranteed.

nothing is guaranteed. from my experience, transcender's question was structured very well, their explainiaton was very good, really test your knowledge. however, even if you can emmorize the books, your passing is not guaranteed but I do believe it is a good prep to get you into the mood, to approach the question, to be familair with the long worded ms questions. I believe what I did was do it once without reading explaination just to check wqhere I stand in prepareness, then I go through it and follow their reasoning for the answers to see why x is right and y is not. but its been a while so heh ...

I myself use Transcender beside using the MS Press book & lots of hands on to prepare for an exam.. Transcender gives you detailed explaination for every answer for a question.. that's what makes you able to learn why the answer given is correct..

If you have Trancender then you have a quality product which is always accurate and can give you a good feel for the real exam. Personally I have stopped useing them as they are too expensive for me! Sounds like your having a crisis of confidence, bottom line is that if your doing well in Trancender then you will be okay in the real thing.
My experience has been that even after a good study preparation, where you think okay lets have a try out, you can only manage a score of about 75% and that's where practice tests come into their own. Prevention of silly mistakes! Don't be paniced into thinking that you are going to meet disaster from the start. Be calm, you have done all you can and its too late to change track now. I'm sure the next post you leave will be a 'PASSED!'

I agree with what everyone is saying. I use the MS Press books and Transcenders. The transcenders help you learn with the explainations given, very detailed. I applaud you for wanting to do it the right way. That's where the satisfaction comes, knowing you earned your score fairly. Please do try to get as much hands-on as possible. It will re-enforce what you learn by reading and taking practice tests. Good luck and keep us posted.

Well allways over 60% but thats to less I think hmm the next 12 hours I will look at the wrong questions and try to understand. You are right there are tons of mistacs because I was unconcentrate. I hope I wilŽl have some luck at the exam and pass. The rpblem is that I`m comming from austria and this exam ist my first english one.... some mistakes I would never have done if the question was in germany but however. It`s I good choice to choose english I think, because whole Cisco is english too an the preparekits of ms and cisco are english too so we will see how it ends :-)
