| Hey all:
I am having trouble getting motivated to study for 70-218. I've done 5 tests since May and am pretty burned out on studying. Maybe I need a vacation.
Can anyone pass on some inspirational words to help bring me back up? (BTW: this is not suggesting I will cheet through it...so please don't go that route).
Just one exam away from MCSA.

| I know how you feel StevoC! I've been there myself.
Take a "brain break" for week or so, it will do wonders for your frame of mind.
I passed the 218 back on May 21st and have just started studying for the 216. I took the time to kick back, relax and spend time with my family.
I'm really glad I did because I am very refreshed and ready to hit the books again!

| How about: DO YOU LIKE YOUR JOB!
No just kidding! Take Spid's advice, give yourself a break. You'll come back refreshed and ready to get going. Taking a vacation to get your mind off of the studying for a while would do wonders for you.
Hey, I don't know if this is inspiring to you or not, but the 218 is one of the easier exams. That inspired me!

| If your burned out, take a rest. These certs are not a race of time. They will be here no matter what.
Rest 2 weeks. Throw the books into the closet and try to enjoy the other things around you.

| You want inspirational words? How about this:
"If something is to hard to do, then it's not worth doing. You just stick that guitar in the closet next to your shortwave radio, your karate outfit and your unicycle and we'll go inside and watch TV." --Homer Simpson

Well, I'm feeling pretty motivated now. Actually, started reading again today. I took the 2126b class a few weeks ago, but since it was tailored for my work, we skipped a bunch of chapters. (IIS and RAS included...my two *ahem* favorite subjects).
Thanks guys....I'm going back at it.
buckwheat: thanks for the inspiration...I miss the Simpsons!

I do live in Monterey. How'd you know??
The golf courses are beautiful (and some expensive) here. If you play and are ever up this way, let me know and I'd love to play a round with you. Just know I'm not that good.

| lol,micop...
i was going to tell him, i had certain gifts..
I know, he plays Golf, because he left it also in his profile
BTW i do not play Golf.
I may pick it up when i retire.

| golf is great. fun game, very challenging. don't wait till you are retire, start now.
nothing beats it as far as bonding/reinforcing relationships also... too many of us are too busy that we never find time to meet up and just catch up... coffee shop etc, ppl come and go as they please... on the course, you are stuck for couple hours...
a bucket a week at a driving range and soon you will be course worthy... it helps if you can get a couple friends to start with you, its much more enjoyable. when you all suck then it doesn't matter, not that embarrassing when you totally slice the drive...
playing at pebble is my dream... when I break 80, I am there in an instant.

| I agree, golf is a fun game. Believe it or not, I gave up paintball about a year ago and focused more on golf. ( I actualy started playing golf when I was a young'n...my grandfather was semi-pro). I gave it up for a while and picked it up recently. I still ain't that good, however, but improving.
So, if anyone finds themselves on the peninsula, I'd love to meet up for a friendly round. No betting though...you ain't gonna get my money that easy!!

| I'm not growing up.. I'm just burning out.. I walked in line to walk amongst the dead..
if you feel burned out.. u should take some time off.. don't just spend your time studying and preparing for an exam.. watch a movie or something.. I tried once and almost got burned out myself.. 3 exams in 3 weeks time.. luckily I made some early preparations & took some time off here & there.. don't study straight away after an exam.. I usually hang out with my friends to let out some steam..
I don't know what I'm babbling about so I better stop here

I understand....I haven't even watched TV in about a month...although I don't watch much anyways. But it's been study time every night after my daughter goes to bed, and I go for a few hours. I can't study much during the day, work during the week, and my daughter (2 1/2) demands my attention on the weekend...not that I don't want to give it to her.
I'm happy that she does like to play with her wooden train set. That has been somewhat of a release. Unfortunately, our track now runs through just about the entire house!! |
