Does anybody know the what the maximum number of interfaces there can be in a Win2K Server using RRAS as a software router?
Someone in the industry told me that there is a 4 interface limit and I am not sure he is correct.

What type of interface do you mean? If you need the number of modems a Windows 2000 Server RRAS service can handle, that's 256.

What I would like to know is how many NIC's are supported by RRAS when the box is used as a software router. Also, I would like to know whether the limitation is a function of the OS or the LAN technology.

If you are just using the RRAS server as a router, you can have as many NICs as your hardware can support. If you are going to use the ICS, then you only want 2 NICs (1 for Internet, one for intranet) as the ICS service will provide the internal network NIC with its own IP address using Microsoft's "standard" private IP addressing (192.168.0.0 scope).
