| Should someone that wants to manage routers (and especialy the cisco pix) but also wants to know something about Windows 2000 study for the 70-218? | |

| I would say so.
I am going for my Cisco certs now and the info I learned from MS stuff has been very helpful
|

| It's always good to have a little bit extra.. that extra edge above others.. but for someone who wants to manage routers.. the 216 Network Infrastructure exam is better in my opinion.. 218 is as the exam title states.. Managing a Networked Windows 2000 Environment.. it is more to troubleshooting & problem solving.. this is only in my humble opinion | |

| Thanks,
Is it doable to start learning from a study quide and begin with 216 Network Infrastructure exam without first doing the 210 or 215 and not a lot of experience with the windows 2000?

| if your into or want to go the netwrok engineer route than cisco is the way. If your more into admin than microsoft is the way. It depends on your focus or what has the strongests presence it your job or the job you want? Hope this helps | |

No
The 216 is the hardest test in the MCSE track and will require you to have some hands-on, even if it is only on a test network. This is not an exam that should be taken lightly. Do yourself a favor, and study and pass the 210 and 215 before you even look at the 216, or else you are almost assured to fail... |
