You are the enterprise administrator for a company named "unycx". You must deploy win2k professional to 50 pcs and service pack 3 to the same computers. You copy the cabs to a shared folder called CABS. You want to make the required task with the less efforts possible. The installation must be made one pc at a time by the local administrators without any unatended or remote installation services. What is the best option?

1- extract service pack files to the CABS folder and overwrite the existing original files. Install using winnt.exe

2- extract service pack files to the CABS folder and DO NOT overwrite the existing original files. Install using Update.exe

3- Install win2k using WINNT.exe. After win2k installation, update the win2k installation with the Service pack 3.

4- Use the Update.exe -s to update the CABS files. After that, use WINNT.exe to install win2k.

5- Copy Sp3 inside the CAB folder. Install Win2k using WINNT.exe -update.exe

6- Install win2k using update.exe and when installation ask win2k cabs, provide the correct path.

thanks my friend!!!!

answer is 4.

this is a new issue for me. i learn this just yersterday... you can update your win2k installation files with service pack using the update -s command.

so when you update the installation files and install with the updated files, the installation of win2k is made it with service pack already installed...

tomorrow is the D day!!!!

Yeah, is a nice question too. I learned it recently from the Mike Meyers book, chapter 1. The "update" command is not so common or touched on typical study guides, like Sybex, for example.
