| You are the network administrator for a company named Ruscorp Inc. Your company has 15 Windows 95, 25 Windows 98 and 100 Windows 2000 Professinal desktop computers. To provide active directory services, you setup two domain controllers for the domain named ruscorp.isuk. Domain based DFS is installed to provide fault-tolerance as well as to support file replication services. You need to ensure that users can access the resources on the fault-tolerance distributed file system by using any computers in your network. How can you accomplish this task? (Choose all that apply)

| I would go for A E F

| Sorry dudes, I am having network problems. View my thread in the Windows 2000 General Dissucuession.
Anyway, this is an easy one.
A. Download and install domain based DFS 5.0 client for Windows 95 computers.
E. Do nothing for Windows 98 computers as DFS 5.0 is bundled with Windows 98.
F. Do nothing for Windows 2000 Professional computers as DFS 5.0 is bundled with Windows 2000 Professional.

| Answer: A, B and F
When setting up DFS, you can either setup a Domain based DFS or stand alone DFS. For Domain based DFS, the DFS root is integrated into the Active Directory, since every domain controller in a domain will contains a copy of the active directory, the DFS root will automatically distributed to any additional Domain Controllers in the system to provide fault tolerance. As domain based DFS is integrated in Active Directory, client must be able to access to the Active directory in order to use the DFS. For Windows 2000, the active directory client is installed by default, for Windows 98, standalone DFS 5.0 is included with the operating system, however, domain based DFS 5.0 must be downloaded and installed to access domain based DFS. For Windows 95, DFS client is not included with the operating system, so you must download the client in order to access to the stand-alone or domain based DFS.
